Last Rites Held For Mrs. Alexander

Funeral services for Mrs. W. W. Alexander whose death occurred in Story County Hospital Dec. 4 were held from the Nevada Methodist church Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 14 at 2 o'clock with the Rev. David Ash, officiating.

Two songs "Still, Still With Thee" and "Be Still My Soul" were sung by Mrs. David Ash, accompanied by Mrs. Norman Dobson at the organ.

The many beautiful floral offerings were arranged by Mrs. J. C. Christy and Mrs. G. C. Smalldridge.

The casket bearers were Clyde Hostetter, Kenneth Johnson, Ward Jackson, Ross Morfey, Harold Miller and Robert Ogden. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

Obituary

Jessie Belle Alexander daughter of James A. and Mary G. Baldwin, was born in 1874 near Carthage, Illinois. Most of her life she spent in Southern and Central Iowa as a child, as a student, and for twenty-one years a teacher in Page and Marshall Counties. She was a graduate of Amity College (now discontinued), and Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls in 1906.

She was married to Rev. F. S. Bunting at Red Oak, Iowa in 1894 and to this union was born two sons, Ralph H. Bunting, Carlesbad, New Mexico and Harry R. Bunting of Waco, Texas, who with one sister, Mrs. Frank (Emma) Lewis, of Greenfield, Missouri, one grandchild Muriel B. Leonard of Washington, D. C., and three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Rev. F. S. Bunting of the Des Moines Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

She was married to W. W. Alexander, March 9, 1940 at State Center, Iowa. The entire Alexander family of six children and their wives and husbands, twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren were very dear to her and she was loved and respected by them.

The following relatives from out of town were here for the last rites: Mrs. Myrtle Alexander, Paul Alexander, Harold Alexander and Mrs. Harvey Crawford of New Lenox, Ill.; Ernest Alexander, Mrs. Anna Beeson and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Winchester of Urbana, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Sofranko, Mrs. Robert Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Alexander, Patty and Gary, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hopper, Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Alexander, Belle Plaine.

Friends in attendance included Mrs. Alice Quimby, Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler and Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler and Mr. and Mrs. Olmstead of Marshalltown, Mr. and Mrs. V. R. Wardman of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Tilton of Ames and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mills of State Center.
