PIONEER WOMAN DEAD AT STORY CITY
MRS. ALETE JORSTAD PASSED AWAY, VICTIM OF HEART ATTACK
Special to the Journal.
Story City, March 29--Mrs. Alete Jorstead, 81, widow of late Lars A. Jorstead, who died at his home February 9, died Tuesday eveneing, after a 10 days illness. Heart trouble was the cause of her death.Mrs. Jorstead, a native of Norway, Europe, where she was born March 26, 1852, came to America 62 years ago and had been a resident of Story City for 59 years.
The funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at St. Petri church, after which interment will be in Fairview cemetery.
The first husband of the deceased was Peder Olson, who died a number of years ago, after which she was united in marriage to Mr. Jorstead, who died but seven weeks ago.
She leaves one son and six daughters, the son being Paul A. Olson, editor and publisher of the Story City Herald and prominent citizen of the community.
The daughters are Mrs. H. S. Van Vranken of Burt, Mrs. H. J. Buther of Garfield, Utah, Mrs. Andrew Nelson of Branson, Iowa and Mrs. Joseph Hanson, Mrs. C. M. Bartlett and Mrs. John Malmanger, all of this neighborhood.
