FUNERAL SERVICES FOR DR. E. S. M'CORD

FORMER NEVADA MAN DIED IN CLINTON HOSPITAL OF PNEUMONIA

Funeral services for Dr. Elias S. McCord, 64, native son of Story county, who died at a hospital in Clinton Monday afternoon, will be held at Delmar, Clinton county, Thursday afternoon at 2:00, after which interment will be in the cemetery at that place.

Pneumonia was the cause of his death. His health had not been the best for a number of years, according to relatives living in Nevada.

With the death of Dr. McCord, there are but three of the family of nine children of the later Commodore P. McCord and wife, pioneers of Collins township, left. Those surviving are Jacob W. McCord of near Collins, Mrs. Edith McCord-Shenkle of Collins and Sherman G. McCord of Lawton, Oklahoma.

Frederick McCord and Mrs. Wright Ringheim of Nevada are nephew and niece respectively, of the deceased.

Elias S. McCord was born on the old McCord homestead in Collins township, 64 years ago in January. The family moved to Nevada later he attended the Nevada public schools, later graduated from Iowa State college with the class of 1892, after which he took a course in medicine and graduated from Drake University. Shortly after finishing his college work and getting his degree he located at Delmar for practice and that has been his home since.

He leaves besides his wife, two brothers and one sister, a number of nieces and nephews.

Dr. McCord had for years been division surgeon for the Milwaukee railway and had a wide acquaintance in that part of the state.
