SUDDEN DEATH OF GILBERT FARMER

MATTHEW OSTREM, 45, DIED VERY SUDDENLY ON MONDAY EVENING

Gilbert, April 15--Matthew Ostrem, 45, farmer near Gilbert died very suddenly at his home near here Monday night at 10 o'clock. Heart trouble was the cause of death.

While Ostrem had been a sufferer from heart trouble for a year and a half, his condition was not considered serious and Monday he as about his work of the farm as usual.

He had been up during the evening but stared for his bed, when he was stricken. A doctor was called and arrived before Mr. Ostrem died.

Mr. Ostrem was a native of Thor, Iowa, where he was born January 25, 1885. He lived there until 1907, when he was married to Miss Martha Peterson and they came at once to Story county and located on a farm near Gilbert. Three children were born to this union. They are Howard of Hardy and Luverne and Mrs. Ray Watts of Gilbert.

Martha Ostrem died at Oakdale, June 4, 1915 and in October, 1923, he was again married this time to Julia Severeid of Story City. Three sons were born to them they being Robert 5, Richard 3, and Curtis 1.

He also leaves one brother, J. M. Ostrem of Adams, Minn., and four sisters Mrs. J. Hansell of Hardy, Mrs. S. S. Askelson of Gilbert, Mrs. O. D. Adams, of Steel, S. D., and Mrs. N. S. Walter of Centuria, Wis.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon and interment will be in the South St. Petri cemetery. There will be services at the funeral home in Story City at 1:30 and at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City, at 2:00, by Rev. T. T. Helmark.
