YOUNG FARMER DIED OF CANCER
TORY LANGLAND HAD LIVE ON A FARM NEAR ZEARING

Zearing, April 10--The body of Tory Langland, 36, a farmer living southeast of here in the St. Anthony district, who died at Los Angeles, Calif. of intestinal cancer Friday of last week, is expected in Marshalltown Friday and the funeral will be held at Elim Lutheran Church, Marshalltown, at 2:30 Saturday afternoon.The parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Langland live on a farm northwest of Zearing.
Mr. Langland, who died upon the anniversary of his birth, April 4, had been a sufferer from cancerous affliction for some time. He left March 19 for Los Angeles in the hope of receiving benefit from a new discovery for cancer treatment. Mrs. Langland and her children, Arlene, 12 and Jack, 6, left April 2 for Los Angeles, upon news of Mr. Langland's critical condition, but did not reach his bedside until after his death.
Mr. Langland was 36 years of age and was a native of Marshalltown. Before her marriage his wife was Miss Bessie Shelton, of that city.
Surviving Mr. Langland, in addition to his wife, children and parents are two sisters and two brothers. One of the sisters is Miss Mary Langland, of Marshalltown. The other is Mrs. Byron Hopkins of Los Angeles. The brothers are Willie and Gilbert, who are at home.
