PIONEER NEVADA WOMAN IS DEAD

DAUGHTER OF THE LATE CAPTAIN GEORGE CHILD DIED AT EASTERN STAR HOME

Mrs. Hattie Child-Stevens, 70, died at the Eastern Star home at Boone at an early hour today, following a second stroke of paralysis according to word reaching her brother Bert B. Child of Nevada.

Mrs. Stevens whose husband Fred Stevens, died a few years ago, was the oldest of the children of the later Captain and Mrs. George W. Child, being born in Nevada October 6, 1859. She was married here to Fred Stevens and they lived at various times in Rhodes, Ottumwa, Boone and other places. Following the death of her husband she had her home with her son Earl at Galesburg, Ill., until January 2, 1929 when she entered the Eastern Star home at Boone and the day following she suffered a paralytic stroke.

She leaves besides the son Earl of Galesburg five brothers and various other relatives. The brothers are George Child of Tilton, Ia., Will and Harry Child of Ames, Bert B. Child of Nevada and Fred Child of Maynard, Minn.

Her husband and one son, Arthur, died some years ago and interment will be in the Nevada cemetery by their side.

The son and five brothers will all be present at the funeral which will be held at Boone and the interment in the Nevada cemetery.

The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at three o'clock, at the chapel of the O. E. S. Home, Boone, after which the body will be brought to Nevada for interment.
