IOWA WOMAN WAS VICTIM OF COLD

MRS. HILES FELL IN SNOW AND WAS NEARLY DEAD WHEN FOUND

Kelley, Jan. 20--NB--Mrs. Sarah Hiles, 62 year old widow was dead at Luther, west of here in Boone county today, a victim of the cold wave.

Mrs. Hiles was found by her son, Luther, in the driveway to their home when he returned late last night. She had apparently been laying in the snow several hours and was near death. Both arms and legs were frozen.

Though conscious when discovered by her son, Mrs. Hiles, died a half hour later.

Mrs. Hiles had stated to some neighbors late in the afternoon. It is thought she suffered a stroke and fell unconscious.
