FORMER ROLAND MAN DIED IN OHIO

OTIS B. FERKIN, BROTHER OF MRS. O. R. SOLEM, VICTIM OF DIABETIS

Special to the Journal.
Roland, Jan. 7--News of the death of Otis B. Ferkin, 41, at Toledo, Ohio at an early hour this morning shocked local relatives as it was not nown that he was seriously ill, although it was known that he had been a sufferer from diabetic for some time.

Mr. Ferkin was the only son of Mr. and Ms. M. O. Ferkin, long time residents of Roland, and it leaves besides his wife and parents, three sisters. The sisters are Mrs. Albert Twedt, of Hector, Minnesota; Mrs. Vernon Steffin of Grundy Center and Mrs. O. R. Solem of Roland.

He had been in Toledo for a number of years, being employed in the Willys-Knight factory there as a mechanic.

Immediately upon receipt of news of his death, the father M. O. Ferkin, and uncle Arnie Johnson, left for Toledo and the body will be brought back to Roland for funeral and interment.
