Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Dale Buck, 93, of Ames formerly of Waterloo, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Northridge Village in Ames. A private family burial will be held at the Ames Municipal Cemetery on Tuesday, May 8th.

Dale Lavender Buck was born April 30, 1925 to Harry and Alice (Negley) Buck in Gilman, Iowa. He entered the Army during World War II where he earned citations including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

After returning home from the War he married Margaret Adkisson on January 20, 1946 in Waterloo. He became a proud father to two daughters, Kathleen and Susan. He spent his working career at John Deere Research Center retiring in 1985.

He is survived by his loving wife Margaret of Ames; daughters Kathleen (Phillip) Harris, of Ames, Susan (David) Heath, of Ankeny; grandchildren Emily (Kevin) Mahoney, of Ames, Aaron (Kourtney) Harris, of Grimes, and Dr. Laura (Dave) Schwartzkopf, of Phoenix, AZ. Six great grandchildren Hadley, Evan, and Logan Harris, Riley and Maggie Mahoney, and soon to be born granddaughter Schwartzkopf.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Buck.

The family requests no flowers. Memorials can be made to the family.
