Beverly Lou Johnson, 83 of Story City, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at the Households of Bethany, Christine’s Place in Story City.

Beverly was born November 11, 1934, in Nevada the daughter of Walter Irven and Hazel Lorene (Hall) Williams. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1952 and was united in marriage to Larry Eugene Johnson on September 18, 1955, at the EUB Church in Nevada. Bev had worked for the Iowa State Memorial Union, Nevada National Bank, Donnelly’s Marketing and owned her own cleaning business. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg where she had served as choir director, Sunday school director and church secretary. Bev had also been a 4-H leader for the McCallsburg Cloverettes for many years.

Bev enjoyed word search puzzles, painting and playing cards. She also enjoyed trips to Branson, Missouri. Above all, Bev loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter and great-granddaughters.

Bev is survived by her daughters: Debra Johnson of Story City and Dee Anne Johnson of Story City; her grandchildren: Ashley (Casey) Klipstein of Oak Grove, MN; two great-grandchildren: Jaylah and Hayley of Oak Grove, MN; and her sisters: Cheryl Metcalf of Loveland, CO and Pam (John) Whisenant of Marshall, TX along with many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her siblings: Wendell Williams, Carolyn Williams and Don Williams; her nephew, Kim Williams; and her niece, Jodi (Johnson) Adams.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 30 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Private burial of cremated remains will be at Story Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ames.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in memory of Bev.
