Patricia Lee Wilson, age 92, of Story City, IA, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Israel Hospice House in Ames. Pat was born on November 14, 1925 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Roderick and Lucille (White) Graham. The family moved to Oskaloosa where she attended high school, graduating in 1943. Following graduation she continued her education at AIB in Des Moines. She and her best friend, Billie Wright, then moved to Washington, D.C. where they worked for the Army Signal Corps in support of the war effort.

In 1945 she returned to Oskaloosa where she married Ensign Charles (Chuck) Wilson. Together they traveled up and down the West Coast as Chuck's VC-80 squadron did advanced training. In those short 6 months they made many close, lifelong friends. After the war, Pat and Chuck made their home in Ottumwa, Iowa where they raised two children.

Pat and Chuck moved to Ames in 1961 where Pat worked for many years for the Bourns Corporation, retiring in 1987 as the administrative assistant to the Plant Manager. She volunteered for several years in the hospitality shop in Mary Greeley, and was recently given a 30 year service award for her work with RSVP in Story City.

Pat was known for her soft sweet heart, her enduring love for her family, and her ability to make others happy.

She had a special bond with her grandchildren that developed into friendship as they grew older; she was never short on hugs or love. They will remember her for her Jelly Bean Jar, her unforgettable sugar cookies and her wholehearted support and interest in their lives.

Survivors include her daughter, Candace (Paul) Nelsen of Ames, Iowa, her son Mike (Ruthanne) Wilson of Traverse City, Michigan; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Memorial contributions can be directed to the Ames First United Methodist Church's Music Program (516 Kellogg Ave. Ames, IA 50010).
