FATAL ACCIDENT OVER AT MAXWLL
CHILD DEAD AS RESULT OF BURNS FROM FIRECRACKER WITH COMPANION.
A fatal accident occurred at Maxwell on Friday when the seven-year old so of Dr. and Mrs. Taylor who moved there recently, was severely burned and died afterwards from the shock. Little is known as to how the accident happened. The boy with a little girl companion were playing in the yard with some fireworks when one of the crackers which was tossed in the air lit on top of the boy's head. He attempted to shake the cracker off when it went down the back of his neck, firing his shirt and other clothing. He rushed to where he thought his mother would be found but she was not there and before the fire extinguished he was seriously burned about the neck and head. He died a few hours later from the effects of the shock. The body was brought through here yesterday and taken over the Northwestern to Anamosa. The shock was a serious blow to the parents.
