Miller Funeral Thursday at 2:00 PM
Special to the Journal-funeral services for Mrs Roy Miller, 46 who died so suddenly at her home here Monday evening at 8:30 will be held at the Colo Methodist Church Thursday afternoon, after which interment will be in the local cemetery. The services will be in charge of the Rev. G.H. Johnson, former pastor here, but now of Carrol, NE.
The death of Mrs Miller came as a surprise to the relatives and friends. She had suffered an attack of the flu about five weeks ago, but was apparently recovering with the exception of a slight throat affliction and it is thought that the poison from this penetrated through her system and affected her heart, causing her death.
Mrs Miller was born in Colo (IA) Jessie, the daughter of Mr and Mrs David Danskin. Later, the family lived in Nevada IA for a time. The parents are both dead, but she leaves two sisters, Mrs. C.B. Wilson of north of this place and Mrs Ella Williams of Washington, D.C.
She was married about fifteen years ago to Roy Miller of Colo (IA) and their home has been near Colo.
During the years of maturity, Mrs Miller had been active in church and Sunday school activities and was well known over the county and at the time of her death, was an officer in the District Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
Mrs Miller was well known among the Nevada (Iowa) people and was a member of the Soloman Dean Chapter D.A.R. of this city.
Mrs Roy Miller (Jessie Danksin, (B Di, 1901 of Colo, Iowa passed away January 17, 1927, at the age of 45 years and 20 days. After finishing here schoolwork here, Mrs Miller attended the Lucy Rider Meyer Bible School in Chicago and later took up nurse's training in Chicago, however owing to illness in the family, she came home and has since made her home in Colo. She was a most ardent and faithful worker in the church, Sunday school and Missionary Movements of the Methodist Church at Colo. Among those left to mourn her untimely departure are, her husbhand, Mr Roy Miller, her sister, Mrs LaMont Williams (ella Danskin, (M. di 1901) of Washington, D.C. and another sister, Mrs Lydia Wilson of Colo.
