Justus S. Richmond, 87 died of pneumonia, Monday January 12, 1903 in Marshalltown at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F. P. Youngblood. Born in Schlary (sic), (Schoharie?) County NY, March 27, 1815, he moved with his family to LaSalle Co., IL There his wife died Dec 22, 1863. He came to Story County, in 1868, buying a large farm where the Willow Creek Church stands. He gave land for the Willow Creek School, which was the first in the township. Survivors are: six daughters, and a son; Mrs. George Sheldon, David City, NE, Mrs. J. W. Shenkle, Collins; Mrs. E. Kelley, Manchester; Mrs. Jacob Day and Mrs. William Miller, Goldendale, WA; Mrs. Youngblood, Marshalltown, and Alonzo Richmond, Rhodes. Services from Rhodes ME Church with burial Eden Cemetery.
