Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

June Vivian Ninow, 96, of Story City (formerly of Chilton, WI), passed away on August 15, 2017, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Wieting Family Funeral Home in Chilton, WI. A short visitation will take place before the service at 10:00.

June was born June 20, 1921, to parents Joseph and Meta (Horst) Dhein in their country farm home. After attending high school, she went on to receive her bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin. She taught in Brussels, WI, immediately following graduation, and later in life she became an assistant at the elementary school in Chilton—she loved to help children learn. On June 17, 1944, she married the love of her life, Donald Ninow. Into this union two children were born—Carol and Doug.

Her love for her family was one of her greatest passions. She would always thank them for the nice day whenever they were able to spend time together. She had a fond love for chocolate, playing cards, singing, animals, and the plants she had growing around her home—her big heart showed through all aspects of her life. She enjoyed spending her time volunteering at schools and playing in several bridge groups. She was always cheerful throughout her life and kept a positive perspective for those around her. People would often be able catch her singing one of her favorite songs—Blue Skies—whenever she looked up to a clear sky.

June is survived by her two children, Carol Gostele of Story City and Douglas (Michael Keach) Ninow of Tampa, FL, and her two beloved grandchildren, Jefferson (Meghan) Gostele of Phoenix, AZ, and Kallie Gostele of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ellen Dhein, and her loving husband Donald.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is assisting the family with arrangements.
