J. M. Howell died suddenly Saturday in Ames at the home of his son, who is telegrapher for the Northwestern. His age was 72. He had been a prominent man in Albion, Marshall county, previous to going to Ames, and his remains in charge of the Masonic order were taken to Albion Sunday for burial.
