Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Beverly Sue Highland, 47, of Story City, IA, passed away on June 4, 2017 as a result of a car accident near Cambridge, Iowa. The family will receive friends after 10:00am Saturday at the Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City. A short prayer service will be held at 11:00am at the funeral home.

Beverly was born on August 12, 1969 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Joe and Joyce (Mills) Highland. The family relocated to Iowa and Beverly graduated from Dunkerton High school in 1987. She met her significant other, Erwin Clark in Nevada, IA and they later relocated to Roland and Story City together. The two of them had two children, Calen (18), a recent graduate of Roland/Story and Kyler (9).

Bev was employed at Harlan’s Food Mart in Story City for the past 12 years in the deli, and anyone who came into the store was a friend of Bev’s. Some of her favorite hobbies and past times included grilling out, gardening, and maintaining several house plants. She loved to attend live music venues and was an avid NASCAR fan. One of her annual highlights was attending the NASCAR race in Kansas City with her family. Her family and children were most important to her and she loved to play games with them, travel, and enjoy time together.

Beverly is survived by the father of her children and her partner for over 22 years, Erwin C Clark of Story City; two sons, Calen and Kyler Clark of Story City; her mother, Joyce (Bud) Potter of North Carolina and her brother, Joe Highland of Dover, Delaware.
