POPULAR TEACHER DEAD

Miss Juanita Perkins Passed Away Last Evening.

One of the peculiarly sad deaths that have occurred in the city as a result of the influenza epidemic, was that of Miss Juanita Perkins of Eldora, who passed away Thursday evening at 4:15 at the R. A. Davis home on Oak street where she had been staying. The body of Miss Perkins will be shipped to Eldora this afternoon, the funeral party leaving here over the Northwestern at 1:20 and the funeral and interment will be in the cemetery at Eldora.

Miss Perkins, who had been in Nevada since the opening of the schools this year, was taken ill about a week ago and grew gradually worse from the start. Pneumonia set in on Sunday and it was evident from that time that she was in a critical condition. Her mother was summoned from Eldora, arriving here on Sunday evening and the father came down on Tuesday and they had been with her since.

Miss Perkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs G. C. Perkins, was born in Eldora and that had always been her home. She was raised in Eldora and graduated from the city schools and later from the Home Economics department of Iowa State college at Ames. She had been teaching three years before she came to Nevada to take up the work here.

She leaves besides her parents, a sister Miss Lora Perkins, a student at Iowa State College, and a half-sister Mrs. Charles Norris of Eldora.

She was an attractive little lady and during her short stay in the city made many warm personal friends through her social relations as well as her school work.

The parents, who have been with her since she became ill have been tendered all the assistance and sympathy that goes out from a grief stricken pubic and they will leave for their home this afternoon conscious of the fact that their daughter, although away from home, died among friends and received the tender ministration of all.
