From Nevada Representative December 6, 1907
Irvine Robison, a senior in the electrical course at Ames, was killed on Thanksgiving day near Davenport as the result of jumping from a train. He had gone home for the Thanksgiving recess and was to have his Thanksgiving dinner with his sweetheart, Miss Patherine Carlin, near Davenport. Her home was near the railroad and between stations. No one saw him jump; but it is supposed that he sought to save time by jumping off the train; and his body was found some hours later by the track. He had gone to arrange for his wedding which was to have been at the Christmas holidays. He is spoken of as a young man of exceptional promise and the incident is an exceedingly sorrowful one.
