Death of Jas. E. Miller.

James E. Miller was born in Indiana in 1841 and died at Roland, Iowa, November 12, 1907; aged 66 years. He was united in marriage to Miss Kelso of Indiana in 1860, and soon after this event moved to Bloomington, Ill., where they continued to make their home until the death of Mrs. Miller a few years ago, since which time made his home with his daughter Mrs. Mossman of this place. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Miller, three of which are still living Mrs. Mossman of Roland, Iowa, Harry Miller and Mrs. Scott Cable of Bloomington. A sister resides in Gridley, Illinois.

James E. Miller entered the army in 1861, served one year in the national guard and then enlisted in the navy where he served throughout the war. Mr. Miller was a man of influence in the community where he resided. He was honest of purpose, prudent in action and wise in council. He belonged to that class of men whose every purpose is to act right and do right. In talking with Mr. Mossman a short while before death he expressed his willingness to go and died in the faith that all was well with him. During his sickness he received the best of care from Mr. and Mrs. Mossman who administered to his wants with loving tenderness. The remains were taken to Bloomington Friday accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Mossman. The funeral will be held there on Monday and the remains laid to rest beside those of his wife.
