From Nevada Representative August 12, 1907

Mr. J. H. Burroughs was called Friday to Salem, South Dakota by the fatal illness of his father, Mr. George W. Burroughs [sic] who died there at the home of his eldest son on Saturday morning. Mr. Burroughs senior was eighty-six years of age and had been in excellent health until a few days before his death. The funeral will be held at Salem; but the body will be taken to Tipton in this state, where Mrs. Burroughs, who died a number of years ago is buried. Mr. Burroughs was a native of New Jersey, having been born and reared at or near Camden in that state.
