Death of J. K. Hobaugh
John J. Hobaugh [sic], one of the pioneers of Indian Creek township, died June 23 at Pasadena, California, aged eighty-seven years. He came into Story county in 1853 or '54 and had resided here, making his home in recent years at Maxwell, until about four years ago when with his second wife, formerly Miss Clara Wilson, he removed to Pasadena. He leaves his wife but he had no children. It had been announced that his body would be brought to Maxwell for burial next Sunday; but it is stated that illness of Mrs. Hobaugh has necessitated delay in starting.
