Joanne Marie (Metelak) Driscoll
November 7, 1937 - April 18, 2017

Joanne Marie Driscoll, age 79, of Story City, IA, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, April 18, 2017. A visitation will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Stevens Memorial Chapel (607 28th St., Ames, IA 50010). A memorial service will follow visitation on Saturday, at 12:00 p.m. at Stevens Memorial Chapel.

Joanne was born November 7, 1937 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Joseph and Lillian Metelak. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1956.

On February 2, 1957, Joanne was united in marriage with Bill Driscoll. Joanne and Bill were blessed with four children, Bill Jr., Joel, Tom and Erin.

Joanne was employed at 3M in Ames, retiring in 1998 after 20 years of service. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, trips to Vegas with the "girls" and was a devoted ISU fan even though she was raised in "Hawkeye Country". But what she enjoyed the most, was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joanne is survived by her four children, Bill, Jr. (June), Joel (Jeanie), Tom (Joyce), and Erin (Mark); six grandchildren, Heather, Alicia and Emily, Ryan, Alex (Summer), and Jeff; two great-grandsons, Jaxson and Elijah, and her two brothers, Bob (Jan) Metelak and Gary (Cathy) Metelak; two nieces, Marcia and Hali; and two nephews, Michael and Chad.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lillian.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joanne's name to the William R. Bliss Cancer Center of Mary Greeley in Ames, Iowa.
