Jeffrey Wayne Martinson
January 28, 1959 - April 3, 2017

Jeffrey Wayne Martinson, 58, passed away peacefully Monday, April 3, 2017 at Israel Family Hospice House. Services and burial will be held later this spring at Sheffield Cemetery.

Jeff was born January 28, 1959 to Martin and Emma (Jacobs) Martinson in Ames. He graduated from Ballard High School in 1977. He served in the Air National Guard from 1976 to 1982. Jeff moved to Houston, Texas in the early 1980's. He worked many years as a warehouse worker, and later was co-owner of Independent Freight Handlers. He always took pride in keeping his customers happy. Jeff spent many hours reading and acquired a large collection of history and science books. He was very attached to his dog, Hooper, and cat, Snoop. He moved back to Iowa in December 2016 to be closer to family when his health deteriorated.

Jeff is survived by his sister, Rose Zagar (Ron) of Ames; brother, Richard of Ames; two nieces, Danielle Martinson of New York, NY and Jessica Martinson of Urbandale.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Emma; and older brother, Dennis.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is assisting the family with arrangements.
