William Handaker, one of the most highly esteemed citizens of Story county, died at his home in this city early Sunday morning, being at the time within six days of 79 years of age. He had moved from his farm in Richland township to Nevada fourteen years ago, and had since enjoyed a most serene old age in town. He was well up to within a few days of his death; but he was stricken Thursday with paralysis and died in less than three days thereafter. His funeral is conducted this afternoon from the Lutheran church by the pastor, Rev. J. O. Simon, assisted by Rev. W. P. Payne.
