From Nevada Representative April 1, 1907
Des Moines papers report the death of Mrs. Orpha L. Taylor, which occurred at the Methodist hospital in that city on Saturday. Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of Mr. E. Wooley, and came to Nevada with her father's family in the latter 80's or early '90s and was a resident of Nevada more or less for the rest of her life, although she lived at times both at Mason City and Des Moines. She was a woman who had a good many troubles to meet; but she always met them bravely. In the end she was reduced to penury and she was about to have been removed to the Polk county poor farm, when her condition became such that she was removed to the hospital instead. From her point of view her death was a triumph, as it came in time to permit her to die a self-supporting woman. She was sixty-eight years of age.
