Death of Maria McNichols

Miss Maria McNichols, daughter of Mr. Michael McNichols, died early Saturday morning at the family home in Marshalltown. Her death had been expected almost hourly for nearly or quite a week; and its occurance therefore brought regret without surprise. Her illness began with tonsilitis; her tonsils were lanced, and the operation was followed by blood-poisoning. Miss McNichols was twenty-six years of age and a native of Milford township in this county. She had lived substantially all her life in or near Nevada, and she had here a wide circle of admiring friends. She was the home-keeper of the family after the death of her mother, and with the family she moved to Marshalltown last spring. her body was brought here this morning for interment, and the funeral was conducted from the Catholic church at ten o'clock by Father Nichols.
