From Nevada Representative August 17, 1906
Mr. B. A. Lamason, cashier of the Bank of Ankeny, was killed by lightning in his barn at Ankeny Wednesday morning, and his funeral will be held there today. He was one of the representative men of his community and was the possessor of a comfortable fortune all of which he had accumulated since he came to Ankeny as a poor boy. The storm in which he was killed was not very severe in the vicinity of Nevada; but there was much thunder to the southwest of here, and it is stated to have been accompanied with the heaviest rainfall that has been experienced in Des Moines for two years.
