Sudden Death at Ames.
The citizens of Ames were shocked Saturday afternoon by the sudden and unexpected death of J. N. Fowler, a highly respected young business man of the town. Though it was known that he had been seriously ill for a couple of weeks he seemed to be in a fair way to recovery and the sudden change for the worse was wholly unexpected by his friends and the attending physician. The immediate cause of his death was the result of the bursting of an abcess in the abdominal cavity. The underlying cause of the trouble dates back a number of years when he was accidentally struck by a beat sweep while aboard a ship and only by a miracle escaped instant death. For a number of years he has been a prominent tailor in this city. He has one brother, F. N. Fowler residing in Ames and a father in Boston. He also leaves a wife to mourn his untimely departure. At the time of his death he was a little past 41 years of age. No funeral arrangements have been made pending replys of telegrams sent to relatives residing at a distance.
