OBITUARY

Death of Mrs. Harry Poage

Mrs. Harry A. Poage died at half an hour after midnight this morning at the residence in this city of her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Poage, of consumption, following a long and slow decline in health and a sudden collapse at the end.

Cora A. Cornwell was born at or near Rockford, Illinois, December 9, 1879,was reared there and was married there on February 13, St. Valentine's day, 1907, to Harry A. Poage of Nevada, and died at Nevada, January 6, 1909 aged 29 years and 28 days. She was an expert milliner, and she first came to Nevada in the fall season of 1905 to trim hats for Miss Rodgers. She returned for the same work inthe spring of 1906, and in the following February she came again to Nevada, this time as a bride to make this city her permanent home. The young couple went at once to housekeeping; but even at that time the bride was afflicted with hard cold, from which she never recovered. Gradually her health failed until her trouble was recognized as consumption and her continued attention to household duties became impracticable. So last summer they broke up housekeeping and have since been at the home of his parents, where the end was reached, as stated. Notwithstanding the hopelessness of her condition, Mrs. Poage kept up and about until the end. She had been out automobiling within a few days and wall all of the time able to be up to some extent. Her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Cornwell, arrived very fortunately last evening, and the evening up to ten o'clock she spent very pleasantly in visiting with them. In every way she was a most estimable woman, and her death is very deeply mourned.

Short funeral services will be held at the Poage residence Thursday morning at nine o'clock, and the body will be taken by way of Iowa Falls to Rockford, where the interment will be.
