Death of Bertha Jacobson

Bertha Jacobson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Jacobson, died at her home one mile west of Roland on Thursday night of consumption. The funeral was held at Bergens church Saturday afternoon conducted by her pastor, Rev. Smedal. Bertha Jacobson was born in Milford township but had lived in Howard for the most part of her life. Her sickness dates back several years though she was not confined to the bed until a short while ago. She had always been a true and faithful member of Bergens church, devoting much of her time to works of charity, in which work she took an unusual interest when health permitted. Aside from her parents and brother Carl, she leaves numerous relatives and legion of friends, who lament the loss of one whose life had been spent to make the world brighter and better.
