The funeral of Mrs. J. J. Holmes of Ft. Dodge was held at the Methodist church here Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Shaw, and the interment was this morning in the Nevada cemetery. Mrs. Holmes was formerly Miss Emma Brown. She was a native of this county, and she wand her husband have lived in Nevada in recent years. She was a sister of Mrs. Harrison and Mrs. Rood and also of A. B. Brown and Manley Brown, both of Paulina, and still another brother lives at Ames. She was about forty years of age and leaves her husband and four children. She died Sunday night at Ft. Dodge. The interment was delayed until this morning in order to permit of the arrival of the brothers from Paulina.
