OBITUARY

Death of Edith Coughenour

Edith Coughenour, daughter of John W. Coughenour of New Albany township, died about four o'clock Saturday morning August 1, at the home in this city of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Coughenour. The cause of her death was goitre, which exhausted her strength, and though she had held up bravely until near the last few days, the hot weather of the last week wilted her and after she was told of the real seriousness of her condition she seemed to give up the struggle. She was eighteen years of age and had formerly attended the Nevada schools; but for the past two years her health had kept her out and she had been at the parental home in the country, until early in the summer she was brought to town in order to be nearer to medical attendance. Everything was done for her that could be done; but her case was hopeless.

She is spoken of by those who knew her in and out of school as a bright and attractive girl, and her death us a sad blow to family and friends. Her funeral is held today at Colo.
