Death of Ed. Rice
Ed. Rice, long a resident of this city, and previously of Sheldahl, died at his home in this city at noon today after an illness of about a week. He was over sixty years of age and leaves a numerous family

OBITUARY
Obituary of Edwin R. Rice
The funeral services of Edwin R. Rice, whose death was briefly chronicles in this column in Monday's issue, were held at 10 a. m. today from the family home north of the track and were conducted by Rev. J. N. Lentz of the Lutheran church. The burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
Mr. Rice was born March 3, 1849, at Rockford, Illinois, and died at his home in the city June 21, 1908, aged 59 years, 3 months and 7 days. He was married March 5th, 1878 at Sheldahl to Miss Elizabeth Sterling* who with two daughters, Mrs. Sarah E. Goodwin* of Nevada and Mrs. Clyde Connor of Helena, Montana, survive him. He is survived also by a sister, Mrs. Norman Confare of this city, and a brother, C. H. Rice of Waverly. Mr. Rice suffered greatly in his fatal illness, his death being due to rupture of the gall duct. He had many kindly traits and will be missed and mourned by relatives and friends.
*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Edwin R. Rice married Elizabeth (France) Sterling. She was the widow of Arkinson B. Sterling whom she had married 3 September 1871 in Benton County, Iowa. Edwin Rice's daughter, Sarah, married Ben E. Goodin (not Goodwin as stated.)
