OBITUARY
Funeral of Mrs. Ingram
The funeral of Mrs. Ingram was held Thursday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. W. Thrasher, Rev. R. E. Shaw conducting the service, and her relatives and old friends in very large number attending.
Mrs. Ingram's maiden name was Sarah Ann Allen and she was a descendant of the Green Mountain patriot, Ethan Allen. She was born of Quaker parentage in Brookfield, Indiana, September 14, 1825, came to Iowa with her parents and settled near Agency in 1848; was married to John F. Ingram July 29, 1852; came to a farm near Zearing in Story county in 1878; removed to Nevada ins 1890; was bereaved of her husband September 18, 1902; thereafter divided her time with her children, in Nevada and in Los Angeles; and her life closed at the Thrasher home in Nevada May 25, 1908, she having attained the ripe age of 82 years, 8 months and 11 days. She was a woman of strong character, fitted admirably into pioneering life, and ruled her family with firmness and discretion and made friends of those who knew her. One daughter died some years ago. The five sons and daughters who survive are Joseph M. Ingram, of this city, Sarah A. Boster, of Maxwell, Mary E. Thrasher of this city, E. A. Ingram, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Charles B. Ingram, of Los Angeles. She also leaves 23 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
