ZEARING

Mrs. Nancy Price who has been ill for several months, passed away last Saturday morning about nine o'clock. Funeral was held Monday at two o'clock from the Evangelical church, Rev. J. Geo. Walz officiating. She was laid to rest in our cemetery north of town.

Mrs. J. M. Price

Nancy Price, nee VanOrder, was born in Ithaca, New York, April 8 1834, was united with J. M. Price, in holy matrimony, at Northville, Ill., December 27, 1854. To this union ten children were born, six sons and four daughters. Husband, one son and one daughter preceded her to the spirit world. Five sons, Will, Arthur R., Bird, Harly and Glenn, three daughters, Anna M., Ella M., and Katie Cheville, also ten grandchildren survive her and mourn the loss of a kind, loving and self sacrificing mother and grandmother. Mrs. Price also leaves two brothers and scores of friends to mourn. She with her husband and family came to Iowa in 1865, and about thirty-four years ago they moved into the vicinity of what is now known as Zearing, and have lived hereabout ever since. Mrs. Price last illness began to become serious during Thanksgiving week. She lingered along suffering much yet patient with all, until she peacefully went to sleep about 9 o'clock Saturday morning January 25. Funeral services were conducted from the Evangelical church, by the pastor, Rev. J. G. Walz assisted by Rev. Salmon, pastor of the Christian church. Mrs. Price was a member of the M. E. church, and gave evidence of her continued faith in God at the last saying, "The Lord knows best. His will be done."
