OBITUARY

Death of Michael Orsvold

Michael E. Orsvold died at the County Infirmary Thursday, Jan. 16, 1908, aged nearly 58 years. Mr. Orsvold was born in Sandnes, Jederen, Norway, March 1st, 1850, came to America in 1874 and located in Illinois. He was married to Lena P. Hoyd January 4th 1873. In 1878 a legal separation took place, the following year he came to Iowa and located in Story county near Huxley, and December 11th, 1889, he was married to Sarah J. Larson who with two daughters by the first marriage survives him. Some 15 years ago Mr. Orsvold's health became seriously impaired as did also that of Mrs. Orsvold later on; and in consequence of their inability to care for themselves, Mr. Orsvold, in 1902 was taken to the care of the County Infirmary, while Mrs. Orsvold remained with relatives in Huxley. Mrs. Orsvold has been able to made occasional visits to her husband during the long illness, and she expresses warm gratitude to Steward Lang and wife for the kindnesses which they have extended to herself and her afflicted husband. The interment will take place at the Palestine Cemetery near Huxley. Mr. Orsvold in his days of health was a man of intelligence and will be kindly remembered by his old neighbors and friends.
