The death of Mrs. Thomas Paxton, a resident of Boone since 1882, is worth noting for the reason that it brings to public notice a life which like that of Dorcas of old, was "full of good works and alms." Being childless, her heart went out to the homeless and needy and she reared two orphan girls to womanhood, one of whom has become a missionary in a foreign field,. So the outgoing spirit of the good lady had perpetuated itself, and goes marching on, to the blessing of humanity.
