OBITUARY

Death of Mrs. Emma Johnson

Mrs. Emma G. Johnson of Des Moines, grandmother of Mrs. Will Wright of this city died Wednesday evening at Mercy Hospital there, and her funeral will be conducted Saturday from the Episcopal church in that city. Mrs. Johnson was 67 years of age and had been a resident of Des Moines for very many years. She had a large family of children, and she also reared her grand-daughter, Mary Callison, who is now Mrs. Wright. Mrs. Johnson spent several weeks here with Mrs. Wright during May and June, returning to Des Moines about the first of July. She was then in somewhat ailing health; but there was no thought that her illness was serious. Soon after returning home, however, she went to Mercy Hospital, and there she remained to the end. Her illness and death were due to heart and kidney trouble. She had been a widow for quite a number of years.
