Death of "Si" Lambert

Everett Lambert otherwise known as "Si", who has been much a student hero in recent years of Ames, died Tuesday at Denver, where he had undergone an operation the day before for gallstones. He was a member of the class of 1909 at the State College and during the past year he had remained there for further work. Since the close of school he had been in Colorado in charge of a small expedition of students. The expedition finished its work and he went to visit his sweetheart, who lived out that way. While at her home he was taken ill and from there was taken to the hospital, where he died. He was celebrated at Ames an an athlete and was full-back of the football team. He was young man of whom great things were expected.
