Ronald Eugene Lock, 82, of Huxley, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017, at his home near Huxley surrounded by his loving family.

Ronald was born April 14, 1934, the son of Cassell and Ruby (Sowers) Lock. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1952 and was united in marriage to Doris Peek on July 5, 1957 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Ronald served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany from 1954 until 1956. He was a farmer most of his life and retired from the Iowa DOT in 1994 after 42 years. Ronald will be remembered as a strong, comical, gentle loving man with an infectious laugh. He was a young entrepreneur and his favorite past times included woodworking and farming. Ronald was and always will be deeply cherished by those that knew and loved him.

Ronald is survived by his daughters: Ronda Johnson of Huxley and Sherry Lock of Strafford, Missouri; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his son, Steven; his daughter, Kathy Williams; one brother, Loren and two sisters: Lola and Murial.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 19, at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will be at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
