F. M. CONFARE DEAD.
Falson M. Confare, familiarly known as "Fallie," died early Sunday morning at the hospital in Great Bend, Kansas where he had been since the accident which he suffered ten days before. The accident, it will be remembered, was the result of his catching his sleeve on a set-screw when putting a belt on a gasoline engine. His arm was drawn in and he was flung about by the fly-wheel and would have been instantly killed but for the presence of his father, Ben Confare, who stopped the machinery and got him out. His injuries, however, were very great, the worst being the fracture of his skull in two places, and though he was taken at once to a hospital and had the best care possible, yet his condition was never better than hopeful and ultimately he died of his injuries.
The deceased was fifty years of age and had lived for the greater part of this life in Story county. He was widely known in the county and universally esteemed. His early years were spent for the most part in or near Nevada and living at Ames. Last winter, however, he moved to Kansas and went onto a farm near Great Bend. His father, who had gone to Oklahoma, joined him there, and thus it was that they were together at the time of the accident. His wife, who survives him, was Miss May Harrison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Harrison of this city; and there are three children: Lessie now Mrs. Harrison at Quincy, Illinois, Bert G. at Great Bend and Ruth, also at Great Bend. Mr. Confare also leaves three sisters.
