OBITUARY
Death of Lemuel Bane
Lemuel Bane, one of the oldest citizens of Nevada died Sunday morning at the home of his son, W. Bane and was buried Monday afternoon, Rev. Hunter of the Presbyterian church conducting the funeral. Mr. Bane was a native of Pennsylvania and was in his 89th year. He had generally been in excellent health for one of his years; but early in the pat winter he was stricken with apoplexy, and since that time he had been in a helpless and hopeless condition. His death therefore was no surprise, and came much as a release. Mr. Bane grew up in Pennsylvania and removed to Illinois before the war. In 1881 he came to Iowa and for many years he has had his home at Nevada or in this vicinity with his only son. He will be most kindly remembered by many old time friends.
