Mrs. Maria Rutherford died at her home in Ames Monday morning last; her funeral service was held in that city his forenoon; and the burial is in the family lot of the Nevada cemetery, where for twenty years have rested the remains of her husband, and about two years ago were laid those of her son Justus. The family were former residents of Nevada, and Mrs. Rutherford has kept a warm place in the regard of her old neighbors and friends. Though for some time a sufferer; she retained kindly interest in life; and, in the quietude of sleep, death found her, sadly surprising her attending friends.
