Murder and Suicide at Baxter

James Linder, a farmer and carpenter living near Baxter, in Jasper county, filled himself with booze Tuesday afternoon and shot his wife and son and then shot himself. His own death was immediate and that of the son not long delayed. The wife's wounds were not quite so bad; but she was not expected to recover. Two smaller children escaped the slaughter by being at school. If a man with such propenalties would only shoot himself first, how much better it would be.
