Death of Mrs. Ida Moore
Mrs. Ida Moore, daughter of Mrs. R. A. Robison of this city and herself a woman well know and widely esteemed southwest of Nevada, died at her home on the Moore farm Monday forenoon, her death being extremely sudden and wholly unexpected. She had been ill recently with pneumonia, but she had considered herself able to be out again, although undoubtedly she ought to have staid in. There had, however, within a day or two been a affection of one hand which suggested a serious case of blood-poisoning, but this condition had not occasioned alarm to herself nor to her family. Her mother had gone out to see her Sunday and spend a day or two, and Mr. Robison, Mrs. Moore and the latter's daughter, Miss Sadie Moore, were chatting Monday morning in the kitchen, when Mrs. Moore fell back in her chair. Her mother and daughter were there in an instant to catch her but she was dead in a few seconds.
Mrs. Moore was the eldest child and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Robison, and she was born at Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, on February 14, 1852. She came with her parents to Iowa when she was three years old, and all the rest of her life has been spent at or in the vicinity of Iowa Center in this county. She grew up there and was married there in 1875, to Alexander G. Moore, who died in 1900 and is buried at Iowa Center. She has continued to live on the home farm on the east side of Union township, and there she died as stated on December 27, 1909, aged 57 years, 10 months and 13 days. She is survived by her mother Mrs. Robison, her three daughters, Miss Sadie Moore, Leda, Mrs. L. B. Child, and Grace, Mrs. Robert Shepard, and one grandson, the only child of the last named, born November 4; also by her four brothers, George, Charles, R. R., and Bert. Mrs. Moore was a most estimable woman, generous and thoughtful, and sincerely regarded by all about her.
Her funeral will be conducted from her home Wednesday at ten o'clock by Rev. Guest of the Methodist church at Cambridge, with the choir from the same church The interment will be at Iowa Center.
