COUNTY CORRESPONDENCE
IOWA CENTER
Affliction has come to Mrs. Isaac Harper-Koch of Iowa Center in the death of her beloved daughter, Miss Nettie Harper. This fatality occurred a few days ago in South Dakota, where Miss Harper was making an extended visit to friends, and it resulted from typhoid fever. Friends brought the remains to Iowa Center, where funeral services were held on Tuesday last, and interment was made in Woodland cemetery beside the dust of Veteran Isaac Harper, the father who passed away twelve years ago. Mrs. Harper removed with her flock of little ones to Davenport seven years ago, that she might place them in the Soldiers' Orphans' Home in that city, and in said institution the youngest of them remains, Miss Nettie being the next older, and at the time of her death, seventeen years of age. Mrs. Harper-Kock returned to Iowa Center last summer, and now another of her dear ones is gathered here.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. Isaac Harper-Koch" in this article was Amanda Tabor/Taber who married (1) Isaiah Harper (not Isaac as stated) on 23 August 1874 in Boone County, Missouri. She married (2) William Koch on 13 October 1900 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.
