Death of Anna Higgins
Miss Anna Higgins, daughter of Mrs. Catherine Higgins and recently residing with her mother in Nevada, died Tuesday in Mercy Hospital, Chicago, and was buried Thursday at Chenoa, Illinois, where the family formerly resided and where her father and a sister are buried. Miss Higgins had for some time been suffering with tubercular trouble, which located in such a was to occasion serious difficulty with her throat. On this account she went to the hospital in Chicago for an operation, the results of which for a time seemed to be quite satisfactory and within a very few days she had written to friend here indicating very material improvement in her condition. But as to this appearances proved deceptive with the conclusion as stated. The deceased was about twenty-five years of age, and she and her mother had lived here on Spruce street for five or six years. Mrs. Higgins, however, sold the home here early in the fall and after spending a few weeks with another daughter, Mrs. McCarthy, in Kossuth Co. they went to Chicago in order that Miss Higgins might enter the hospital there. The latter was a most estimable woman, and her death is a great sorrow to the many friends that she had made in this city.
