Child Drowned in Wash Tub

While Ben Strom was in town doing some trading with our local merchants last Saturday morning he received a telephone call from home stating that his two year old boy had met his death by accidental drowning in a tub of water. The little fellow had been playing about the yard together with the other children, the mother meanwhile attending to her regular routine work in the kitchen. Missing the little one with the other children, she went out to locate him, when to her horror, she found him in a small tub of water where he had been playing and lost his balance and fallen in head first. Doctor White, of Huxley, was immediately summoned, but the body was evidently lifeless when first found and nothing could be done. The funeral was held Monday afternoon from the home after which burial was made in the cemetery located near by.
