OBITUARY

Albert McCollister Dies

Albert McCollister passed away from this life August 9, 1909 at his home in Union township after a lingering illness. His age was 72 years and 10 months. Funeral services were conducted at his home August 11, by Clarence King after which the remains were borne to Nevada and laid to rest.

Albert McCollister was born in Cuyahoga county, Ohio, October 1836. He came with his parents to Rockford, Illinois, in the year 1838, where he lived till he grew to manhood, and was married to Mary Pratt with whom he lived about eight years. To this union was born one child, Minnie, who is married and lives in Nebraska. May 13, 1873, he was married to Mary Evans, who with his daughter and son, survives him. Mr. McCollister and family came to Iowa in the spring of 1894 and made their home with his mother on her farm near Cambridge. His mother passed away April 13, 1908. Seven brothers and three sisters mourn the loss of a true and affectionate brother. Two brothers Eri and William and one sister who died in infancy have gone before. The brothers and sisters living are: Lodena of St. Cloud, Minnesoata; Tidela of Cambridge, iowa; Elvin of Rockford, Illinois; Ezra and Jarrel of Uma, California; George and Robert of Cambridge.
